About Thunder Bay KOA

Ninety acres, two pools and the Trans-Canada at the gate.

Make this KOA your headquarters for Lake Superior: amethyst mines, Kakabeka Falls, Ouimet Canyon and Fort William Historical Park are all a short drive away.

Thunder Bay KOA Holiday sits on the Trans-Canada Highway 11-17, two miles east of the Terry Fox Monument — turn toward Lake Superior at Spruce River Road and follow the signs. Ninety acres of spruce, birch and poplar shimmer with colour in autumn.

Families come for the water and stay for everything else: two heated saltwater pools, a splash pad, the new jump pad, a brand-new playground, a 300-yard driving range, 18-hole mini golf, outdoor shuffleboard and a catch-and-release trout pond. Hayrides, ice cream socials and planned activities run all season.

Ways to stay range from big-rig pull-throughs with 50 amp service and KOA Patio® sites to Deluxe Camping Cabins with full baths and treed tent sites. Pets are invited to the off-leash canine park, and the store carries local amethyst gifts and jewellery. Your hosts: the Kuper family.
