According to Paul Pepe, the city’s tourism manager, the city is set to host a total of 10 cruise ship arrivals this year. On June 19, the Victory II will return while the Viking Polaris docks at Pool 6. Other vessels scheduled to visit this season include the Pearl Mist and the Viking Octantis. The cruise ships bring tourists from around the world to experience Northwestern Ontario’s natural beauty, contributing significantly to the regional tourism economy and supporting hotels, restaurants and retail businesses across the municipality.
