Two of the most iconic players in Toronto Raptors history, Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady, have purchased a minority ownership stake in the Buffalo Bills NFL team, and they are making it clear their involvement goes far beyond a financial investment.
The former Raptors stars, who helped put Toronto on the basketball map during their time in the mid-2000s, hosted an event bringing together fans from both franchises to celebrate the announcement and build community connections.
“We want to do more than just write a check,” Carter said at the event. “We want to build something that connects these two incredible fan bases and create experiences that matter to people.”
McGrady echoed those sentiments, pointing out the natural geographic and emotional connections between the two cities. Both players remain deeply connected to the Toronto community years after their playing careers ended.
The initiative includes plans for community outreach programs, youth sports development in both Buffalo and the Greater Toronto Area, and exclusive cross-border fan events throughout the NFL and NBA seasons.
