THUNDER BAY — Officers in Thunder Bay have facing charges six young people aged 14 to 17 with assault after bear spray attacks on June 29 sent one victim to hospital.
Officers responded just before 9:30 p.m. to the Victoria Avenue East area following reports of individuals using bear spray. On scene, two victims were located and received treatment from emergency services. One individual was transported to a local hospital.
The suspects had left the scene before officers arrived, but a search of the area led to the arrests of all six teenage suspects. Each was facing charges with two counts of assault with a weapon. One 17-year-old was also accused with pointing a firearm and failure to comply with an undertaking. The remaining accused were remanded into custody following their first court appearances..
