The northwestern Ontario community is abuzz with news that Many communities and areas in northwestern Ontario being evacuated over wildfire activity, and many more are being told to get ready for potential evacuations.
As well, people are being encouraged to pack go bags, or urgent situation kits they can take with them in case of an evacuation. On its website, the Canadian government advises people to tailor their urgent response kits to where they live— for example, those in remote areas may need to pack extra items. However, packing a bit extra isn't a bad idea no matter where people are located, as it will only make the urgent situation kit last longer.
People are also encouraged to pack any notable personal documents, like identification, and comfort and sentimental items like photos of loved ones.
