Thunder Bay, ON — Six people are facing charges following an inquiry by Thunder Bay law enforcement that led to the seizure of about $300,000 in illicit drugs.
Authorities remarked Program Rave focused on pharmaceutical trafficking in Thunder Bay's north core area. "On July 16, 2026, members of the city Law enforcement Service Intelligence Unit and Crisis Task Unit, with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Officers Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau [and] Nishnawbe Aski Officers Service, executed five search warrants at locations throughout the Lakehead of Thunder Bay," Thunder Bay law enforcement acting Insp. Shawn Harrison declared at a media conference on Friday.
Harrison confirmed the drugs seized include quantities of suspected cocaine and crystal methamphetamine, as well as Percocet tablets. Four of the accused are from Thunder Bay, while the other two are from elsewhere, but are residing in the municipality, law enforcement stated. All have appeared in court, with two being remanded into custody, and the rest released pending future court appearances. "When we have a focused examination identified, or general financial support in terms of some of the provincial grants that are available, and some of the various financial support programs that allow us to expand our intelligence capacity in order to identify projects that we can then undertake."
