The locations under consideration include Current River Park, Freedom Park next to Prince Arthur’s Landing, Island Drive Park, Kam River Heritage Park, a section between North Kelvin and North McIntire Streets, and the existing Simpson Street encampment. The city’s 10-point encampment response plan calls for up to three designated locations — one in the north core, one in the south core, and possibly a third outside urban cores — to better manage encampments and help service providers coordinate their support for unhoused residents. The survey closes March 15, with a staff report expected before city council on March 31.
