THUNDER BAY — A 54-year-old man from Quebec has been charged following a stabbing incident in the Red River Road area that left one person injured and led to the discovery of additional victims.
Officers with the Thunder Bay Police Service Primary Response Unit responded to reports of an assault on May 29, 2026, just after 1:00 PM. The Emergency Task Unit, which was on patrol as part of Project Support, assisted at the scene.
Upon arrival, officers located an individual with injuries consistent with a stabbing. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Police were able to identify, locate, and arrest a suspect nearby, and further investigation led to additional victims being identified. No additional injuries were reported.
The accused appeared in court and was remanded into custody facing charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Stephane St-Cyr, 54, of Quebec is facing the following charges: aggravated assault, assault with a weapon (two counts), and possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was remanded into custody following his first court appearance.
